I am who I am
The life YOU perfectly penned
With the skinned knees
Broken bones and ribs that I sustained
I know I shouldn’t blame
Look into the past
With bitterness and hurt
For the dreams that have escaped
YOU have grander rewards in mind
For order of events i cannot rearrange
YOU have better things aligned
For what I lost and cannot keep
Tests I failed and lessons I missed
YOU ARE PATIENT, YOUR LOVE IS SUFFICIENT

I guess we all have our skinned knees in form of wounds in the past but it's not something we should dwell on but something we should learn from.
ReplyDeleteAwwww ...
ReplyDeleteTime heals all wounds.
So loved the poem. Reminds me of a movie, SERENDIPITY. YOU ARE PATIENT, YOUR LOVE IS SUFFICIENT. The long waiting is being granted with TRUE LOVE and DEEP AFFECTION. Even if it hurts so many times, deeper longing will grow no matter what happened from the past.
ReplyDeleteAmen, God will always gives as the BEST. Never mind those trials you've been through. At the end if only you follow God's will then, joy then tomorrow brings new blessings.
ReplyDeleteI think, having skinned knees is sometimes normal. Experience is the best teacher and sometimes those learnings need us to get be hurt in order to be able to catch the message that life is telling us..
ReplyDeleteI guess pain comes with living but we should strive to look at the positive things which are more abundant.
ReplyDeleteSimple but very deep. There's no perfect world nor a perfect plan.. but finding true love helps make things much more worthwhile. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely words in the poem. For me, it's like seeing a rainbow after the rain. There will always be someone that would keep us from remembering hurtful past.
ReplyDeletei am inspired with this poem!thank you so much for sharing this one :) i really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteshort but well written poem. I admire the choice of words and the thought behind the poem.
ReplyDeletePains and sufferings makes us strong and time heal all wounds .At the end of the day, through positive out like in life ,the sun will shine on us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching poem. Short but deep with subliminal emotions.
ReplyDeleteI guess those wounds really took time to heal.
ReplyDeleteSkinned knees and soon become scars. They could remind us of the pain but on the bright side could remind us of the lesson...
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice poem and I love the picture that you used. I will be sharing this at SPED Philippines Pinterest page.
ReplyDeletehaving "skinned knees" is just a part of life... what matters is what we decide to do after that. we just need to accept that things happen, and we just need to move on. Yahweh bless.
ReplyDeleteWe have to stand up when we fall... We have to be stronger after any trial. We have to gain our self after loosing a battle and we always find hope in every waking morning.
ReplyDeletenice thoughts...keeping faith...sustaining faith...His unconditional love.
